Grrrr Stupid bank!!!

Where is the logic in this..
My bank bounced a direct debit for 36.54 saying that it would take me over my overdraft limit........ then they apply a charge of £35 for doing it!
I'm soo p'ed off with them, it means I hve to find £70something now whereas if they would hve paid the DD which was yesterday, I'd have gone in and covered it with cash this afternoon or tomorrow morning, like I always do. They know I get paid on weird dates each month and they're always ok with a day or two of lateness.. now they do this
To those people who complain bout people reclaiming their bank charges and not managing their accounts properly... this is how the spiral starts...

I would ring them and point out the silliness of the situation - I work in a bank, and I would refund a charge in those circumstances, so it's worth a call. Good luck."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Thanks.. also.. the company who's DD they bounced is gonna charge me £23.50 for the non payment.. do I have any recourse to that? it's T-Mobile btw☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

Have you got a good record of paying on time? I assume since you pay by DD the answer is yes. It's worth ringing T-Mobile and explaining the situation. If you sort things out with the bank first then you can give them your assurance that the DD will be paid asap.0

did you read my first post? I get paid at weird times each month, not always the same. The bank is aware and are usually ok if it's just a few days. This time they moved the goalposts.
btw.. it's not a case of learning my lesson, I'm not a naughty child. I'm struggling to manage on a pretty low income with a child in hospital miles away, which costs over £20 in travel each time I visit her.. and because my account would have gone £2.66 over my agreed overdraft of £50 it's now going to cost me £100 to fix.. not completely my fault as the bank have always been reasonable til now.☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

Thanks RBK
They said they wont refund the charge and if I want to reclaim them like I did last time then its up to me
It just feels like the straw that's gonna break my back... what with everything else going on.☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

Totally sympathise with you! I had the same thing a few days ago and rang them up to complain. They just said they were entitled to do it! Then I had went into my other account with them (I have joint and personal) and saw a charge went out for interest which was £40 odd quid. Usually I get a statement end of each month advising what the interest will be for overdraft facility, and I ensure money is there. Didnt get a statement last month for some reason, so ensured there was the same interest amount as month before. Seems the interest had crept up! Wrote to bank as previous letter from them had my wrong door number, so said perhaps the statement had gone astray (cant check interest due online). They said they will deduct 50% of the charge as it was the best they could do and it was a goodwill gesture!! rant rant..better than nothing I suppose...really need to get the ball rolling on claiming back!!!!!
Hugs to you though...totally sympathise when you are trying your utmost to keep within credit!!!!0
