Free Children Book

Dont know if this has been posted, apologies if it has but the BBC and learn Direct are giving away a free book for parents and children to encourage them to read together

Ive had a look at the book and its full of activities, stickers and nice big pictures - story is more suitable for say 3 - 5 year olds? but younger children will enjoy looking at the pictures etc

Thought I'd let you all know that the call took 4 1/2 mins mins, they ask a few questions and also ask if they can ring you back to see what you thought of the book.
Sure my 4 yr old will like it though, is reallly into stickers at moment.

My call took just over 2 minutes, just asked for name and address, no awkward questions at all, although did ask for my phone number so they could ring back for feedback on the pack.

Thanks for this. I just rang and just to let everyone know, they have a large print available and a "larger print" available. I don't know what the difference is between the two but I was offered those choices as well in case I needed them. I didn't need them but maybe some of you might want to take advantage of the large print.

my call took quite a while but i think that has more to do with the fact i have a cold and had to try and spell everything.

Just wanted to say i just called and it was an automated line just had to leave my name and address and they are sending the pack out. I think it might be because it is so late at night.

Bargain babe - they are supposed to be for parents who dont have the confidence to read to thier children to take ideas and such from the book, I was told about it at I course I attend by the local Librarian.
Though all you need is a few different address to get it posted to and im sure you could get a few for the nursery (though I got mine on weds and it is for school aged children really)

oh and can I add - bookstart have extended their free books - not only do you get a bag at your childs 9 month check, but you can also get another pack at 2 years and a 'treasury box' at 3 years!

This is a new thing so not all Health centres have them but if you visit your local library they will either have some or order some in for you (at least this is what we were told!)
