Good afternoon lovely DFWs
Hope you are having a great weekend! I've been having a really good one thanks to the OH's and friends' company! Very cold today though - sitting here wrapped up to the hilt!
I have spent a considerable amount of money recently so I want to get back to basics this week. Today will be a non spender and I am going to budget £15 for this week.
So, let's have some updates from last week then and new budgets please! Here's the list:
Challenger Amount Actual
I can't decide whether I was bad or not :rotfl: I had planned to go shopping on Saturday but my friend changed it to the Friday so it looks like I spent over the challenge but in theory, I haven't! Oh well, I'll leave me 'black' for now
Now for anyone looking in, please feel free to join - the more the merrier! Basically, decide on the amount you want to spend up to from Sunday until the end of the working day on Friday then pledge it here and off we go! The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anythng else.
The reason the challenge is up to Friday is that I like to give myself a day off the counting and let my hair down a bit
Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!!

Hi Moozie and other DFWs
Only spent money on Tuesday (bread and fruit = £3.99) and Wednesday (petrol = budgeted) so feel like I am getting the hang of this no spending lark.
Off to a concert tonight so there will be some spends involved but am determined to keep to the minimum - Parking and Petrol. We will eat first so will be able to avoid the over priced food and drink there. And of course we won't go anywhere near the merchandise stalls.
Have some essentials to buy tomorrow as well so will give myself a budget of £40 this week0 -
petrol in the car, food bought in for the week, bulk bought drinks for work from poundshop so sun - fri spend £10 - £5 for cigs, 20 last me 5 days, £1 a day to live on, i only spent £7.40 last week so hopefully the same again for this week.Married my amazing hubby on 8th September 2012 :j:j0

Definitely under £10 in fact I think it was £3.40 on parking and that's it

This week, I'm going to be really cheeky and ask, can I bend the rules for my own purposes? Excluding Friday and including Saturday? (Just this week)
If yes, then £10. If no, probably about £50 :eek:No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Hi Moozie and all DFWs
Did really well beginning of week but treated myself to two magazines on Fri (why did i do that?) so I came in at about my total of just under £20 phew!Frugal challenge 2025

Hey all.
Seeing as I have excelled this week with a fabulous 4 no spend days since Monday :j and its looking like another one today :T I think I'm ready for the challenge.
Going home on Wednesday for the weekend, train ticket is already bought and paid for so should just need to pay for the bus to the station as mummy dearest is picking me up at the other end
No doubt I will still have alot of work to do before deadline day so there will be not alot of going out happening. Have to buy mummys birthday card and present but she knows I'm skint so nothing too flashy and could probably make her a card alot easier than finding one I like in the shops.
May have to put petrol in my car but I'm hoping that daddy hasnt used it while I've been away so hopefully will have enough to get me where I need to go.
Bit of a rambling post from me (nothing new there then  ) so budget for the week is going to be £15 allowing for £5 petrol and a possible visit to my glorious local.

Hi! Can I join please? I'm going to make my first target £20 (going away on a volunteering weekend so will need to buy supplies). Will aim to reduce it next week. Thanks!Member #4 of the DMP Mutual Support Club - DFW Nerd #335

Not brilliant for me. £24.20 budget was £20. Spent more money on daughter than I intended
I'm also going to forget about Saturday!
And today I've just spent £26.00 on comp fees for girlie, my turn to pay pocket / lunch money tomorrow and I'm going to Edinburgh (free train ticket) to see my sis on Wednesday.
So all in all I hope to get through with £71 this week (aaargh). Next week will have to be a tenner....0 -
Any chance of a link to last week's thread?
This week the wallet is going to take quite a bashing. Birthday meals on Wednesday and Thursday, big night out after work on friday and another birthday night on saturday. I also need to buy a new hard drive for my laptop. If I get away with spending less than £300, I will be happy.
I'm going to try and set myself some targets :-
Transport : £28
Lunch : £35
Social : £65
Total : £128
The new hard drive will have to be seperate as I havent worked out what to do yet.0
