Feedback

I bought three quite highly priced items (£20, £43, & £50) from three different buyers just over three weeks ago from e-bay, I paid instantly using paypal.

All three items recieved within a week with no problems, fair enough.

Two off the sellers have since e-bay messaged me to ask why I have left them no feedback?

Am I the only one who expects feedback first as the instant payer and buyer?

I feel I am being held to ransom, give the seller feedback first or they will not give me any back.

I feel e-bay should make it compulsory for sellers to give feedback within 48 hours of payment being made or be banned from answering any buyer feedback left after this time.

i would always expect the buyer to leave feedback first and as a buyer to leave feedback first
that way the transaction in my eyes is finished, the item has been recieved and the buyer is happy

otherwise seller leaves feedback, then the buyer is rude/dishonest about the item they are screwed

I expect buyers to leave feedback first. For a start it lets me know the item(s) arrived (unless it was sent recorded/sd)

I get annoyed by buyers who don't leave feedback. I send an item weeks ago and have since given them feedback and sent them a follow up email to remind them. Still nothing :(
  • feedback is not compulsory...and if a seller messaged me asking for feedback, they certainly wouldnt get any.

On the occasions I haven't left feedback, I've sent an email to the buyer / seller telling them why. Saying that I like leaving feedback especially if I've had a pleasant experience.

I would have thought its just good manners to leave feedback for someone who pays you instantly, what else could a seller say except thank you for paying so quickly.

I rarely sell on e-bay, but I do buy a lot and have feedback in the hundreds all positive.

I will not be leaving any off the three sellers feedback as I feel they are just ignorant not to leave feedback first as I did pay instantly as I always do.

If they had left me feedback as I would have expected them to do, I would have also left them positive feedback instantly or once the goods arrived safely.
  • As a seller I agree with reehsetin and pennylane  . I give feedback if/when my buyer does - it confirms the end of a satisfactory transaction-goods received in a good condition, good performance from the seller, - then as seller I give feedback on buyer's performance.

I never ask for feedback - I agree it is voluntary and as far as I can see it is much more a judgement on the seller  than the buyer -which backs up the logic that the buyer should comment first. Also I agree that it confirms that the buyer has received the goods - otherwise how do you know?

Most of my buyers are much less good at communicating than I am!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: but there again I am the one who wants them to buy again so I try to look after them.;)

I must be missing something here?

If you as a seller get paid instantly what else could you possibly do apart from giving positive feedback, so why would you feel the need to wait, on the rare occassions I have sold I leave feedback the minute I realise I have been paid.

If a buyer gets poor service or delivery the buyer is within their rights to leave negative or neutral feedback, why should they worry about any bad feedback in return if they have paid instantly and done nothing wrong.

The seller has a second chance to answer any feedback they dont agree with do they not?
