New Baby / Survival Hamper

I have quite a few friends and relatives due babies over the next couple of months (me included).
I've tried to remember what gifts we were given when dd was born and what gift I would have really liked or needed but didn't get.
I was thinking that I would make up all the parents a survival hamper. The baby always gets loads of gifts - clothes, toys etc. But the parents normally get forgotten about.
But I need help with what to put in the hampers. I was thinking that it should have the essentials in that you always run out of and with a new baby won't have time to go to the shops. I remember me and DH always running out of teabags whenever any one came to visit. And we always kept forgetting to eat as we couldn't be bothered to make anything nice to eat or it would take too long to cook and we would rather just go to sleep.
I was going to put in a small box of emergency tea bags, small jar of coffee. Some biscuits, a disposable camera. But can't think of anything else.
Does anyone have any ideas of what else I could put in? Obviously MSE style, cheap!!
Cheers

Long life milk - I could never remember to get to the supermarket to get some and was always running out - caffeine is of course essential.........love the take away menu suggestion, although not true MSE advise as all the take-away money should be going into a mortgage pig!!0

Id say
*Bubble bath to help relax - maybe a radox relaxing one etc,
*a box of choccies so they could have a nibble and a cuddle on the sofa to
watch a film if they get 5 minutes ot themselves.
*paracetemol - wonders when you've been up all night and have a caffeine headache - and you never have any in the houseMaking Changes To Save My LifeCurrent weightloss - 2lbs (week 1)0 -
calendula cream for rough skin (i wont go into detail here what you do with it but pm me and i'll let u know lol) but it's ace! extra pads, chocolate, tissues, iron tablets or cans of guiness, an insulated mug or two is an excellent idea too, as you'll find cold cups of tea/coffee all over the house once the baby arrives!0

I've always put in some nice posh chocs especially wrapped and addressed to the new mum saying well done!"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0

A friend of mine did this and made the baby a hamper but also me one.Which was lovley as i do think people tend to kind of forget the mum and dad in all the love for the newborn.
She put in lots of smellies, and chocs and a wonderful poem. And a IOU a night out voucher.Along with a babysitting voucher for us also.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
