Hi There,
I wonder if anyone can help me or has found themselves in a similar situation and can offer some advice???
Last week in all the madness I logged on to Amazon to buy a much talked about Nintendo Wii (more fool me i know), I have been keeping an eye out and there were a few released Friday morning.
Anyway, i basically missed the boat and they had sold out. So i clicked on one of the marketplace ones to see how that worked.
It was a will with sports that was for sale at £311!!!! So i hit back and forgot about it.
Anyway, this morning I get an email from Amazon saying that I have purchased the wii and the money has gone out of my account!!!! What, i cant affiord that, not by a million miles!!! aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that and im dead meat when i get home)
Anyway it turns out that the money has been taken out of my 'mortgage' account, which means as it is that wont go through on Friday either
Do i have a leg to stand on?? It sais that the Wii is being shipped today, what can i do??
Is there a refund available at Amazon does anyone know?? Do i have any options??
Any help REALLY appreciated, im at the jump in front of bus stage!! Already done the screaming and banging head on wall!!
Please help!!
P.s Is 9:50am too early to start drinking!!!!!!!

email the seller asap and explain the situation, ask to cancel your order
i sold a few nintendo wiis on amazon marketplace and a few people emailed me to cancel as they purchased in error, so you're not alone0 -
And if it gets shipped to you then just return it (sexurely) for a refund. Under Amazon sellers rules the buyer can return for any reason within 7 days (I think!). You'll lose out on the return postage, but it's better than £311!0

Thats excellent news, many thanks for taking them time to read and for helping0 -
I'm not sure how you could have bought this 'by mistake'?0

Have you got auto buy or whatever its called set-up?
Amazon's advice to me when this happened to me was reject the parcel when it turns up then it gets returned to sender at no cost to you.
Amazon paid a full refund incl the postage cost.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
I am sure you'll get a refund, however, it will take 1-2 weeks beofre is done,
Make sure you do have the fundings for this Friday on your Mortgage Acc.0 -

i also expect the seller will only refund less his postage costs which could be as high as £18.50 for special delivery0 -

Some Marketplace sellers begin processing orders almost as soon as they are placed, so it's not possible to cancel or change a Marketplace order via our website.
However, sellers can process refunds and may be able to make changes if they haven't yet dispatched your order, so please contact your seller if you want to change or cancel your order.
Remember that Amazon.co.uk cannot cancel or change a Marketplace order on your behalf and we can't refund you for Marketplace purchases. If you e-mail us for these reasons, we'll ask you to contact your seller, by which time they may have already dispatched the item to you."Now to trolling as a concept. .... A similar thing happened to me with Amazon.
I'd already bought the item and straight after just had another quick look (or so I thought!) at one of the marketplace sellers selling the same thing to make sure I'd got the best price. Anyway, it transpired later I'd actually bought it againand must have clicked on the wrong thing - it really wasnt obvious I was making a purchase rather worringly.
Amazon were really good about it all when I emailed & then rang CS. They emailed me a return pre-paid postage label to print off immediately and refunded the money as soon as they received the item back, which was a few days later.
As another poster suggested, you may be able to refuse the item when its delivered. John Lewis CS suggested I do that when I changed my mind about an order and their refund was in my bank 2 days later (and that was the week before Christmas!) I was very impressed.0 -
You can certainly return items bought directly from amazon.
It's items bought through the marketplace that is the problem - it's just like buying off eBay or through the private classified ads in the paper."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
