If I go into ebay.com and search worldwide all my items are still showing, even the CDs I have listed so far today. Just remember to find ebay.uk items when in ebay.com you need to specify items available to the US from 'worldwide'.

Just answered my own question by not being lazy and logging in to check!
Nothing at all on announcements but there does seem to be a problem with seeing won and sold items generally. announcement here:

well my shop listings aren't showing.
two of my competitors' shops are, but maybe they have listed on ebay.com?"There is a light that never goes out"0 -
If the competitors listed on ebay.com you should be able to tell because the price will show in USD rather than Sterling...0

eBay's latest test affects all North American search results - the USA and Canada. It has nothing to do with any past eBay announcements despite what other (well meaning) individuals have suggested.
Jordan, the eBay Country Manager for Canada made the following statement on Jan 31: We are absolutely testing different search results on .COM. In fact, I believe that if you search on .COM today you will find no UK listings as a result of a test that is being run.
Here's eBay USA's customer service response: Occasionally, eBay tests different services or features to help us better understand our Community.
During the week of January 29, 2007, eBay will be testing a feature where items listed on eBay UK (ebay.co.uk) will not appear in (normal) search results on eBay U.S (ebay.com).
Members can still choose to view these listings by selecting "Worldwide" as a search option from the search results page. Additionally, items located in the UK that are originally listed on eBay U.S. will still appear in eBay U.S. search results.
In conclusion it looks like eBay.com is testing how to prevent eBay.co.uk items from appearing in regular ebay.com searches. Otherwise, when the new cheaper UK 'media' rates begin in March, there might be a huge drop off in North American listings of CDs and DVDs."Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
Sorry to dig up another old thread, but this has been the subject of discussion for many UK based sellers recently.
I've been doing more digging to see how pages views vary between the two sites and I found some interesting data.
This graph shows the daily pages views of both .com (in red) and .co.uk (in blue) over the last 12 months. Ebay US seems to be decreasing quite dramatically, and market research suggests that US buyers are deterred by overseas trade due to the dollars weakness.
The figures are expressed as a percentage of ALL internet page views, not individual people.
Upon closer inspection of the pattern that peaks and troughs are forming, This is a one month view of the same data.
Looks like the Friday thru' to Sunday period IS busiest, but even more so on .com.
I was also lurking around on the eBay discussion boards, both in UK & US, and the powersellers "elite" club, and it would appear that US listings do appear on UK, BUT not as many US sellers use the international postage option other than for Canada.
This is not limited to the Uk & US sites, but Australia, Singapore and a number of others are affected. eBay India even has a listing upgrade fee to ensure international visibility! A taste of things to come?
A number of sellers globally are starting to list seperately on .com and are using the banner below to highlight this issue. The banner is not Vero'd protected - this is hosted on my photobucket, but feel free to save and use yourselves.
Something else that I have realised after looking at the international boards is that the Uk site does not have a good reputation amongst overseas members. The UK site is perceived to harbour scammers - most Nigerian, Romanian and also increasingly Italian scammers are registering on the UK site as our registration process is a lot more lax than elsewhere. It is also widely recognised that the UK management are sub-standard in comparison to US & AU sites, and seen as weak and unwilling to deal with problems.
Hmmmm. That's something we didn't know!
What is concerning me though is that UK is now the biggest ebay site worldwide per £ spend per member, but if this is the international reputation we are earning, then our listings not appearing on US will be irrelevant if we are not seen as a trustworthy nation.
I know this may be an extreme sweeping generalisation, but I'd hate to see the UK considered to be the next Nigeria or China when it comes to association with scams :-(<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
