Easiyo - ice cream?????

Hi there

Delighted to share my ideas for flavourings!. I use:-

1) crushed or pureed fresh or frozen fruit - raspberries are GORGEOUS! and you really only need a handful. I also add a little bit of sugar (usually about 1 teaspoon or less) if the fruit is tart

2) Low sugar jam - again you only need a little bit to get a lovely colour and flavour

3) chopped nuts and honey

4) melted chocolate and a few bits of chopped chocolate for texture (this for special occasions only!)

Also - I often strain the yogurt as I can fool my DS into thinking it is fromage frais then (he thinks he doesn't like yogurt :rotfl: ) When I do this, I put a layer of muslin in the bottom of a sieve, balance sieve on large jug or bowl, pour the yogurt onto it and leave in fridge overnight. The yogurt cheese (or fromage frais - if my DS is reading :rolleyes: ) I mix with one of the flavourings and the whey that has drained through I use for making muffins or scones or pancakes (add a tablespoon of dried milk powder if you want it a bit 'creamier')
