I am a serial lurker on this board and have picked up so many tips.
I dont feel confident to answer posts as I am a total newbie to OS and cooking

I go to cook and taste sessions (bit like os )and childrens cookery classes with my little boy at my local surestart centre.

Well today the food worker approached me and said that if a job was to come up in the near future would I be interested ? as she would be more than happy to put my name forward.

WHAT ME?, yes me, it would involve just teaching basic cooking skills to parents, and making cooking fun for the little ones

I dont have qualifications in any food related area , but have been informed I dont need any only my basic food and hygeine which I am already booked on for next month any way.

To say I am chuffed is an understatement ,up until 2 years ago I didn't know how to cook anything from scratch and was known as microwave Mave to my friends, now hopefully I will be passing the skills on I have learnt from this board.

I know there is no job as such as yet, but to even be considered for a position is thrilling news .

It would be ideal job something I love doing, with children and school hours term time only so I can still be a full time mum.

so once again thankyou all you fab people you may have put me on the road to a long needed career change

Excellent news - and well done! Fingers cross & hope it works out for you. Perhaps you could also look into your local college for a short course for cookery for beginners. That might help. Some colleges do provide creche's also.

Basic food hygene is easy, common sense needed!

    Good Luck ! :T
