Some dates: (Fraud showing already due to the above breach).

Portions of the information regarding credit and debit card sales transactions during 2003 and from the period from mid-May to December 2006 may have been accessed in the intrusion, the company confirmed in their initial press release.

I just called my credit card company to see what I may do to protect myself and the woman on the phone indicated that if your credit cards or debit cards have been renewed since December 2006 then you are not in jeopardy.

The reason is that there are security numbers on the back of the card that are required to use the card and renewed cards make all those old numbers extinct.

In watching the news report tonight on ITV News, they indicated that something like 30,000,000 cards have already expired and cannot be used so that's some relief.

Note the date when I first posted this information.

Does anyone believe the UK card industry wasn't aware of this?

What's an awful lot more concerning is the Fraud that is taking place on a huge scale right now.
