EXTRA INSERT 17/03/05 11.30AM By MSE Dan
Unfortunately PS2's have now sold out. Boo Hiss. However Boots are having a 10% off day, and I have confirmed that the code STFT98 will work on top of it, giving you an effective 28% discount today - for new Boots users as per Martin's post below.
Discuss this here
IMPORTANT Insert and Explanation By Martin:
Boots* is selling the PS2 for £104.99 which is roughly standard price. However, if you use the discount code STFT98, put this in the right box during your purchase and you get 20% off, and this can be used when buying a PS2.
As Im writing at 7.30pm on 16th March, they still have PS2s in stock. However it is possible the demand from putting it in my Money Tips email will mean it could sell out.
This is legit
I have confirmed this is legitimate with Boots. The voucher is valid until 31 March 2005. It isn't happy about it being sent out, but can't stop it, as it's publically available and legal. The key is this code can only be used by people registering with Boots online for the first time.
Advanced MoneySavers Note. Build the gain even further
Rpoints one of the cashback shopping sites, pay you cashback will pay you if you sign up for a new Boots account via them. If you don’t know what these are, please first read my internet shopping, cutting edge time and MoneySaving techniques article – which has a full explanation.
For those who already have accounts set up (and are open/logged in) the following link should take you through so you get the cashback
Boots
*Affiliated link: If a link has a star, then clicking via it means a contribution is made to MoneySavingExpert.com, which helps it stay ad-free, sponsorship-free and free to use. This in no way impacts any editorial decisions (what I write), costs you anything or changes the product. For an identical link which doesn’t help the site go to www.rpoints.co.uk. For more on how it works and the site’s non-profit driven ethical and financial policy read this.

£92.75 !!!!!!
And this for the slimline PS2 and the best game available for the console!!!0 -
I'm assuming that the GT4 and PS2 will be that price?
Am still deciding whether to get the PS2 at the £84 price quoted in the earlier post. One thing I'm aware of is that there has been many posts on here and perhaps elsewhere that the slimline version has a tendency to over heat as opposed to the chunky older version. Is this correct?
Sony must have been aware of this and have they now rectified the problem with the later versions coming off the assembly lines? Similar to X-Box cable recalls?

Nope, there were some issues when it first came out but not anymore.
Besides, you'll have a 1 year warranty for it anyway.0 -
