Hello! I hope the storms haven't kept too many people awake!
Remembering that every little effort helps us to become debt free sooner, write down here something that you will be doing or have done today that forms part of your journey. It is good for us to remind ourselves that it is not just the big things that count.
So, for me, we are still eating up out of the freezer and the cupboards - dinner tonight is some sort of cheesy vegetable thing I think!
I also updated my snowball calculator to prove to myself that we ARE making inroads to our debts.:D
Finally, I am getting quite good at only boiling enough water in the kettle for the required cup of coffee, rather than having it almost full every time.
Have a good day and don't get blown away!

very windy here too hypno

OK today as follows
Last night I had a brainwave that its £75 for an hour with the removal van, and roughly the same for a whole weekend with a fairly large hired car - so Ill book the car for the weekend, so hopefully we can have 2 x hours with the van and a whole w/e with the car for the same price as x hours with van.
Once weve exchanged I need to book the car ( via quidco , natch, and will search for codes
)
Ive emailed union about my resignation, I might hopefully resign today or tomorrow
Im hoping we will exchange on the flat today. which is a blessed relief and the biggest MSE thing Ive done to date
have a good day y'all
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
im not a DFW (well except my student loan thats steadily racking up) but i enjoy using all the MSE ideas from these threads and i guess reading these has stopped any thoughts of speading sprees lol
but i just got £60 today for my birthday which is nice and shall go in my ISA or savings account, whichever has best interest
have a good day everyone

I bought a value tin of sweetcorn for 17p, I intend to extricate the sweetcorn through a £2 coin sized hole and use the tin to save the lovely golden monetary nuggets. I will have to make a circular hole in the middle of the coin slot to enable the edible golden nuggets removal. :j"Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it." (Montgomery, L.M.(1908). I haven't had time to post on here this week but over the last few days I have:
- Kept up with pigsback CT's and quizzes everyday
- Brought lunch in every day (except yesterday as I was meant to be going out to lunch)
- Opened a savings account to put my additional earnings into so I can keep that income separate for the taxman
- downloaded EagerLearner's frills spending spreadsheet
- Checked my credit report with https://www.annualcreditreport.co.uk
- Applied for the Virgin 13 months of BT at 0% card for my one remaining debt (oh yay, oh yay!) but even if I don't get it I have already negotiated the rate of the current card down from 21.9% to 9.9%
As I won't be around tomorrow or over the weekend I would like to set my goals now, so:
Before next Tuesday I will:
- Take in the final ID document to Nationwide to open my flex account so that I can withdraw money free of charge when I am abroad (at least 8 days a month)
- Tackle the pile 'o' bills (all opened and read), sort them and put them into the nice filing cabinet my OH cleared out for me 4 months ago - bad me...
- Add up all the charges on my capital one card so that next week I can learn how to claim them back.
- Start loading ebay bits onto turbolister
I think that should be enough to keep me going!
Good luck everyone.

I haven't done anything money saving today I'm afraid. Except I drove my brothers car instead of mine, so that saved me some petrol!
Compared to how well everyone else has done I feel quite inadequate!October make £10/day currently £11.020
