Well...I have finally succumbed!!

I have been lurking on this forum for quite a while now, and today I have decided that I have going to become a fully fledged OS!!!

Reading all the different threads have given me so much inspiration and motivation, so today I am going to buy some Stardrops, soda crytsals and white vinegar. I am going to start planning my meals, and utilising my slow cooker and breadmaker that has lain in the back of my cupboard for months (hope they still work!)

Just wanted to say thanks for the wealth of information that you guys contribute and hopefully one day I can start giving tips too, I am so excited about Becoming OS, my husband is going to think i have gone mad.

Just a couple of questions if I may?

Firstly whats the big deal with microfibre clothes, I have J-clothes at home, will these not do?

Also with regards to meal planning, I really haven't got a clue where to start, have any of you perhaps got one on your computer that I could look at, or is there a generic one on here? ( I did look but couldn't find)

Right am off now to wilkinsons here I come!!

I'm sure someone will give you a more technical explanation, but microfibre cloths just work so much better! They are fantastic!
  • I too have just started with the meal planning. I sat down and made a list of the meals we usually eat. And then asked OH if he could think of anything to add (either that he likes to eat or that he would like to IFSWIM). At the moment the cupboards are full of soups, beans, tinned chilli etc and the freezer is also full and so am going to concenrate on eating up whats here before buying more. However ive decided to cook 2 new meals from scratch a week and so will need to go buy ingredients for them. I guess the meal planning makes you focus on what you WANT to eat in the next week and then what you NEED to buy for it - rather than buying a load of stuff you fancy and still having nothing in for dinner! I;m sure someone will come along with some 'proper' advice soon - im still as new to this as you are!
