I know a few things to look out for in a monitor and as I am no graphic designer nor a game player I dont need anything too good.
I do still want a good monitor, something with a good ms, atleast 300:1 and and resolution should be around if not higher than 1280 x 1024.
Anything around £120, dont mind second hand if I can collect and test, eBay is confusing, there are too many!
Is it the right itme to buy? Are the xmas sales going to be worth waiting for?
Need a 17" if not higher. I really want a 19" but my budget is not that high.

17" or 19 "I bought a monitor about 10mths ago and did quite a bit of cross checking various spec's. Someone may come along and correct me if I'm wrong, as things might have advanced since then, but at the time I was looking to buy one, I found out this info.
The resolution differance between 15" and 17" are proportionate, but the resolution between 17" to 19" where the same, meaning that to get the larger size display the pixels are just bigger, this actually means that the picture on a 17" is better than a 19"
That's why I went for a 17", it might be worth checking it out, to see if this is still the case.0 -

Its the Hanns one, heard a few people boasting about it...do you know if any other sites have this at a similar price where I can use Quidco for cashback making the final price cheaper?
EDIT: Just seen Misco's website and they have this for just under £130 and if I go via Quidco I get 8% cashback meaning I pay less. Best option? Any other sites?0 -
£130 would be my max to spend inc delivery, shall I wait after xmas for the sales? Or shall I order mine today? I just dont want to buy it today and see a few days later a 20% reduction or something.0

even if you order it today, you aren't going to get it any quicker, so I'd wait until boxing day to see what offers are aroundEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

if you order it today or boxing day it won't be dispatched till the same day anyway so you might as well wait till the sales.0
