Aliiance & Leicester DirectSaver

Hello. This is my first thread t this forum. I applied for a DirectSaver account and has got the account no. I want to transfer a small amount money first, you know before I transfer 5000. however I found I could not do this.
So two question:
1 Must I transfer at least 5000 pounds for my first time?
2. I transfered from the current account, it failed and displayed rejusted back.I worried that the bank will think it as withdraw money from the Direct Saver/. Is this right?
Cheers for any answer!

It would appear so from the T&C's, yes.layjohns wrote:1 Must I transfer at least 5000 pounds for my first time?
I'm not sure I fully understand the above. However, since the account funding is via direct debit (which you set up during the application process) you must 'pull' money in from the Direct Saver, rather than 'push' it in from your current account. For this reason, the only time you might get a problem is if...I transfered from the current account, it failed and displayed rejusted back.I worried that the bank will think it as withdraw money from the Direct Saver/. Is this right?
a) you don't have funds available in your nominated (current) account when they are called for, or
b) you rush to do the first transfer in before allowing time for the direct debit to be set up correctly with your bank, and checking with them first before initiating a transfer to the Direct Saver.
