If you're buying something big - TV, games console, new bed, something expensive the price'll drop quicker than an X-factor winner's chart position after Xmas.
So I've put together a list of the sales detailing where to go bargain hunting. If you're organised you could even buy some of next year's Christmas presents in the sales - just don't forget about them, where you've stashed them or who you bought for in 11 months time!
Before you go to the sales
Remember sales are designed to make you spend on impulse, and one of the problems is you often leave with 'great bargains' that you'll never use. If you can make a list before hand and then use the web to find the cheapest prices, that'll help to benchmark what you should be paying (read shopbots article).
And even if you haven't done any of that, don't feel forced to buy just because it's cheap. Take two minutes to think about it, get out of the shop and let the little spending demons run away first.

* Using these links helps the site stay ad-free and free to use, as they’re ‘affiliated links’ which invisibly take you via commercial price comparison services like Moneysupermarket or Find, which then pay this site per click
You shouldn’t notice any difference, the links don’t impact the product at all and the editorial line (the things I write) is NEVER impacted by the revenue. If it isn’t possible to get an affiliate link for the best product, it is still recommended and still included. Click on the following link for more details on how this site’s financed.
