Thursday 7 December 10p Ebay Listing Day

What’s the deal?
This Thursday 7 December, eBay* is having a 10p Listing Day, so it's a great time to dejunk those cupboards.
What’s included?
The offer’s only valid on fixed price “Buy-It-Now” style listings. This is when people buy your item instantly, instead of bidding against other buyers at auction.
How much will I pay?
While it only costs 10p to list your item, you’ll still have to pay a sale charge if someone buys it. This is a percentage of the auction’s closing price (or in this case, the fixed-price you chose).
As an example, if you sell your item for £28 you’ll pay only a 10p listing fee, then £1.47 sale charge. See a full breakdown of eBay fees.
How to make the biggest savings.
It’s worth remembering you don't pay a sale charge if you’ll item doesn’t sell. So now’s the time list that giant moose head that used to belong to your great-auntie Edna. If no one buys it you’ll only lose 10p!
Also normally, the more expensive your item, the more expensive the listing fee. For instance items priced under 99p cost only £15p to list, whereas items over £100 cost £2. So the biggest savings are on items with a high buy-it-now price of £100. Though you’ll still save a bundle if you’re listing lots of small items.

You shouldn’t notice any difference, the links don’t impact the product at all and the editorial line (the things I write) is NEVER impacted by the revenue. If it isn’t possible to get an affiliate link for the best product, it is still recommended and still included. For the sake of transparency go to https://www.ebay.co.uk for an unaffiliated link. Could be a good time to list anything suitable as a Christmas pressie on eBay.List an item using the Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) format for 10p on the 6th and 7th of December and attract more buyers making instant purchases.
Terms and conditions apply.0 -
How close up until Xmas would sellers consider posting items that are obviously Xmas presents. I am thinking if I haven't shifted what I have left to sell by next weekend it'll be too late to be worrying about whether buyers will get it in time.0

Im fed up with ebay and their 10p listing days, buy it now days etc... the reason is that when these happen about 100,000,000 people list things so everything is worth less and nothing sells aswell... i put a LOAD of things on earlier thisevening at full price then noticed they were doing this again ... the 3 day listings on thursday will now co-incide with my auctions and clogg ebay up thus making my auctions worthless!!... BAH!
sorry... rant over!0 -
Thanks Op, I was just about to ask if there were any cheap listing days due before Xmas!0

Unless I've missed it, there doesn't seem to be any mention of whether "Buy It Now (Or Best Offer)" listings are included in this 10p listing jambouree. Bah! Why on earth wouldn't they mention that?0

I would assume BIN with best offer is included as it is still a BIN auction, it just has an added option that is free to use. I was going to try one upload tomorrow with a best offer and just make doubly sure it lists at 10p.

Well, I emailed eBay customer support to ask them, and received a response which brilliantly didn't manage to answer my question. I'll put the response up here for your amusement:
Q: Does the Thursday 10p listing day include "Buy It Now (Or Best Offer)" listings? The Best Offer option is not mentioned anywhere on the information page. Thanks!
A: Hello,
Thank you for your email. I understand your concern regarding the
promotional offer day.
Please note that during Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th December 2006
(local UK time), sellers listing with the Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price)
format in an eligible category, will pay a reduced 10 pence (£0.10)
Insertion Fee per item they list. Please see below for more details.
You'll need a feedback score of at least 10, or 5 if you have a PayPal
account to sell with the Buy It Now format. Please also note that best
offer is not included in the promotional offer. You can confirm the
terms and conditon for th offer by the following Link:

I hope this information answers your question. Thank you for using eBay.

I see ebay are still being about as useful as a chocolate teapot! I listed a few things yesterday before my PC crashed and I was definitely only charged 10p despite some having 'best offer' enabled. I've even just checked in my invoice section as well.
