Are you going to have a debt-free Christmas?

Is being a MSE-er helping you to be strong and have a debt-free Christmas this year? Imaging hearing all the moans about the size of the CC bills in January when you can smile and think "I'm SO glad I didn't do the same thing." You'll also avoid the complaints about the kids not playing for more than 2 minutes with the latest fad that cost you £200+ (on credit). Be strong and have a happier New Year.

We are not debt free but Christmas has not cost us, I make some presents and buy the rest through the year when I see something suitable......so we do not add to our debt.

I save my Tesco vouchers through the year and this gives me the cash to do my monthly shop for 'free' in December, had £99 this year, did my monthly shop on Thursday, spent £73, so still have quite a bit for my wine veg etc for Christmas day.

Because we pay our fuel bill by monthly DD our winter fuel allowence goes towards paying for a little holiday for us the next year.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • Not debt free but haven't gone mad with presents like usually do. have thought about everything - will it be used / played with etc and got tons of bargains though internet shopping. Everything paid for already - no adding to credit cards this year.
Can't wait to feel smug in the New Year!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Like the others I certainly won't be debt free (unless a miracle happens) but I certainly won't be increasing my debt. I've got a budget, money set aside and I'll be sticking to it whatever happens! :xmassmile
