Kitty trouble - odours

For some bizarre reason (not illness) our female cat has decided she wants to be a Tomcat and has started spraying! She started off by weeing on our bed, and after many trips to the laundrette she was banished from the bedroom.
Then she did it on the door mat. And this morning we actually saw her spray against the wall!
Is there anything we can use to stop her? Some kind of spray or similar? I couldn't believe it when we caught her, and are not keen on her doing it again.

Has this been a recent thing? Does she normally use her litter tray/go outside? If she's going anywhere but the tray, if little comes out &/or if she's licking down there alot it could well be cystitis & she needs a vet visit. This is why my female was peeing elsewhere0
