Hitachi digital camera - any good?

I have seen a digital camera in this week's Argos mega-deals that i quite fancy. Know NOTHING about digital cameras, but it's half price £179.99 down to £89.99 so seems a good buy.
My only concern is that Hitachi are known more for their Tvs and i'm not sure their brand is very well known when it comes to digi cameras.
It's the Hitachi DC-6371, any opinions out there from someone more technical minded than me?
Are they all much of a muchness or should i stick to a more well-known brand, looking for something around the £120 mark?

Haven't seen it, but I'm sure that it is made in Taiwan. Avoid, I think.

Well, Panasonic were better known for their TVs and videos, but now produce some pretty good cameras too. However without seeing any reviews, I would play safe and go for one that you can get some info on eg at https://www.dpreview.comCharlie0

It's video shooting spec is poor, in the same way as the Hitachi/Premier.0
