Norwich Union are to make an announcement next week re their future plans to reattribute the inherited estate of assets within their With-Profit Fund.
If NU get the right number of positive responses from policy holders in relation to giving up future distribution rights a one-off windfall payment is to be promised for early 2008.
Something worth considering if you are considering withdrawing your money from their With-Profit Fund anytime soon.

A very useful post.
Norwich Union are one of perhaps three WP funds with major providers that still have any merit.
I.e. investors are not having to continue to pay for past mistakes & weak capital backing. I'm certainly not recommending investing new money in this or any WP fund ever again.
So it may be worth a hold.0 -
I have 3 x NU WP polices, so rang NU today who said that any 'payouts' would only apply to (some?) CGNU/CU policies.
Still, shouldn't complain as my oldest 25 year NU policy pays out on 1 Jan 2007 with a very healthy 20% surplus.0 -
Those with WP policies originally with General Accident and Commerical Union are in line for the money.
NU policyholders already got their windfalls a few years ago at the DM.
It's also reported that the FSA is presurrising the Pru to give back money in its WP fund to policyholders
About time too.Trying to keep it simple...
