Damson & Sloe Gin Chutney recipe wanted

Options
Today in the farm shop I saw a jar of Damson & Sloe Gin Chutney. I thought what a great idea to use the sloes left over from the sloe gin. Obviously, I am too late to get damsons this year so I will have to make that next year. But, does anyone have any other chutney recipe where I could use sloes  (steeped in gin and sugar :D )
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

Check out the forums on Sloe Biz website they have lots of recipes using sloes and will hopefully have something you're looking for :)

  • Hi CS! This is the recipe I use for damson chutney. Make it, let it cool, then add a slug of sloe gin (need a recipe? I can point you to that thread, too :D ). Then pot in the usual way.

Are you sure the chutney had sloes in it, and not simply sloe gin? I've never cooked sloes - they're all stone and not much flesh

Sounds great. Might try it myself, now.
