It has been confirmed by Royal Mail.
scam:-
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel
Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel
and that you need to contact them on 0306 6611911 (a premium rate number).
DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will
already have been billed £15 for the phone call.
If you do receive a card with these details then please contact Royal
Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at:- https://www.icstis.org.uk <http://www.icstis.org.uk>
or your local trading standards office. This is a genuine scam and is
under investigation by ICSTIS.

Here we go again ! How many more thime is this urban myth going to be repeated on this board ? This is old news. There is no such thing as an 030 number. If you mean 0906 6611911 then that was disconnected nearly a year ago. Also the bit about the "£15" immediate call charge is also a lie. The maximum call cost for a premium number is £1.50 . So you would have to be on the line for 10 minutes before you incur that charge. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

read on another forum
"ICSTIS closed that phone line down at the end of last year and are getting loads of emails and calls because people have started sending the warning emails again. They have issued a press release about it, link is

Without even searching I've seen three threads started about the same email. As far as I'm concerned the OP is spam, it is false information being perpetuated needlessly."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It's not a case of doubting motives, it's the end result when you have multiple threads in a short space of time on exactly the same thing. Which should not have been posted in the first place because it is based on an urban myth style forwarded email. Whether the OP realised this or not, it still ends up being spam from the point of view of the forum."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Half of these fake warnings are designed to be spam themselves. Most people recognise these as fake now but the damage is done as they few that believe these to be genuine are still circulating them to everyone in their address book.
The snopes url posted above should be the first port of call to anyone that gets one of these circulating emails. Check there before sending anything out and that way everyone is happy.
