Arrrrrrrrrrrgh - Powergen. Advice urgently needed

Just had an electricity bill from Powergen for £800! Rang them and they claimed to have sent at least 3 bills and reminder letters to our address since August, which we have DEFINATELY not received.
Now, I knew when a proper meter reading was taken I was going to have to pay a bit, but £800 is a lot of money in one go. Also my post has been a bit suspect recently, with post going astray, but all 3+ from Powergen going missing seems a bit of a coincidence!
Two things I need advice on:
1 - Has anyone else had any issues with post from Powergen not arriving?
2 - Does anyone know if they are likely to accept some kind of payment plan. Not sure I can afford £800 in one hit.
Thanks for anyone's help.

They will spread the balance for you over 6 months. However you have to pay your average consumption along with that as well.
My Suggestion would be if you know your not recieving bills to register on there website and pick your bills up off there instead.
Obviously your fully aware that you have not had a bill / statement why didn't you call them and ask them if they had been sent?0
