Egg Money - Can I BT when there is no B?

I have an Egg Money card with approx £0 balance (probably £20 positive). I have just rung Virgin to cancel my card which currently has a nil balance but a £15,000 credit limit. They have offered me 0% for 6 months, BT fee of 3%, capped at £75. I am assuming I can BT up to 95%, so £14,250.
Can I BT from Egg Money, creating a large positive balance on the Egg Money card. And then what is the best mechanism to move the money from the Egg card? I have an Egg savings account. Do I phone, secure message or use the website to transfer ? And what, exactly, should I ask for?
Are there other ways to get the 0% BT from Virgin into something that will pay me interest ?

In my experience (on the old £35 fee cap T&C's), they usually insist on the fee for SBT's, but will sometimes waive it for transfers from another credit card.
In your position, because you have the potential to earn £140+ in cashback, I'd BT from Egg Money and then ask Egg (via phone or secure message) to send the positive balance to your Egg Savings account. Wait a couple of days or so, and then move it on to a better paying stooz pot.

Thanks YB, that's what I figured, but I'm a bit out of touch with the latest stooz nooz and the link to SBT's doesn't work - I guess there aren't any left!
You don't think there will be any probs at Egg with a £14k positive balance ?

I've personally had more than £30K on the card. According to the T&C's, you can pre-load £99,999.99 ahem...'spending money', so there shouldn't be any "probs".Twopints wrote:You don't think there will be any probs at Egg with a £14k positive balance ?
However, because they seem (to me at least) to be 'unusual' transactions, I'm glad I've reached my maximum £200 cashback and can now move money via the more conventional BT process - anonymously online. Come next March though, I'll be back on BACS transfers again - if the loophole still exists.

anybody know the sort code and account number fro EggMoney or will just the card number be sufficeint for the other card company to make the balance transfer?

16 digit card number is sufficient. They'll confirm with you that it's an Egg Mastercard.0
