Barclaycard reduced my limit from £280 to £260!!!!

"Responsible lending policy" was the answer. Only needed it to build credit history so will be closing if nothing is done about it!

Does seem bizarre but be thankful that they haven't reduced to £1 like some other poster has had the misfortunate to have done to them!

lynx I used to think that paying my bill off in full would impress the lender. I've found out later in life that this is far from the truth. Some say it's not a good idea to pay your balance in full everytime. Keep a revolving balance but keep it minimal. It will show you can handle debt well and will build your credit.

Also, they will raise your limits/decrease interest rate (on request) as time passes.

They appear to be commiting commercial suicide by doing this, and I hope their plan backfires and they lose a lot of customers. But this is what they appear to be doing, get rid of a number of customers for whatever reason, and try to keep the ones they want to - I hope these customers leave though and they end up just looking stupid and desperate... and attract all the customers back they !!!!ed off in the first place taking advantage of the new offers to get their customer base back

If there was any justice in the world of course!

Sounds like Barclays are using the same rubbish systems as AmEx. I agree with Jason too, hope they lose millions of customers because of this. Vote with your feet, mate!!
