So, we buy the slow cooker, the breadmaker, the handblender, the coffee maker, the food processor, the deep fat chippy, the grilling mackine etc etc..
But where do you store them all when not in use, or do you leave them cluttering up the worksurface?
We have our modern kitchens with our washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, freezers etc etc. These machines are not moved (until they breakdown), so how do you keep the area underneath clean? Do you pull them all out every 6 months or so & clean underneath? Have you got the modern equivalent of the victorian chimney sweep lad that crawls underneath with a dustpan & brush? Yes, we had to pull out our washing machine the other day (not on wheels) and ....:o

Ok the handblender is in the cupboard with the extra food processor attachments. The food processor and george formby are on the counter top as they are used lots.
The washing machine, dishwasher, cooker, fridge-freezer... OH pulls them out every month and cleans behind, underneath and the top of them - he's well trained and a clean freakworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I can't move most of my appliances by myself. Once every six months or so I get a friend to help move them and clean under them but in the mean time use an old wire coat hanger and bend it into a very long U shape and cover it with a sleeve off of an old shirt or sweatshirt and sweep underneath with that/ Then machine wash the cloth. All my counter top appliances are in the cupboards, when I redesigned my kitchen I designed it aroun more storage space rather than the awkward and unusable storage/spaces the builders had left me with.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

If you have trouble moving large and heavy appliances, put a couple of carrier bags under the rear feet and everything moves like a dream. If I was 7 ft 3, I'd be the right height for my weight0

I have the kettle, the toaster, the microwave and the slow cooker on the kitchen worktops as I use them all the time.
The stick blender and it's bits, the caffetiere, jucier and the George Forman are in a cupboard.
The food processor, the coffee maker, deep fat fryer and wok are things I don't use on a daily basis......so I keep them on top of the kitchen cupboards. It's a pain to have to get up and get them when I do need them, but there's nowhere else to put them.
We got a new fridge last week and I nearly died when I pulled out the old one and saw the muck underneath! It prompted me to pull out the washing machine and sort it out as well. I've now put newspaper under them both as I figured it might be easier to change the newspaper a couple of times a month......if I remember to get around to it.

 You have to clean under the fridge and washing machine?0

The slowcooker, toaster and kettle stay out on the side. Blenders and food processors etc live in a cupboard.
Never clean under big white goods - time enough for that when they need replacing. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -
i store the kettle and toaster on the woerktop and the rest - george foreman, blander, slowcoker and breadmaker are stored underneath and most are so old and well used I hve to hid them away when not in use as they are a sight to sore eyes. but why replace when the work fine.
My appliances are intergated so thats my excuse for not cleaning underneath them!!!Lightbulb moment 10-06-06

Kettle, toaster, microwave and scales all live out their lives on the worktop. The slowcooker has extended holidays on the worktop too, but should really live in the cupboard next to the juicer. The breadmaker has a shelf to itself in the larder cupboard and the stick blender lives in the drawer.
And as for cleaning under white goods ... er ... um ...0 -
Kettle, toaster and BM are on surfaces, rest are stored in cupboards. Have actually cleared a cupboard to put BM in to as well as hate clutter on the surfaces. SC and microwave are on top of fridge as they aren't used regularly I know some people who put the toaster and kettle away too

NO absolutely not  :rotfl:
Kettle lives on the hob. Toaster, Georgie, microwave, coffee machine, stick blender, yogurt maker and scales (nice old fashioned ones - not a kilogram in sight ROFL) live on the worktops. Breadmaker and other coffee machine are on top of the fridge freezer. Popcorn maker and candy floss machine - yes they both get used lol, and handheld mixer are in the cupboard. I don't have a slowcooker and the food processor is in the binBulletproof0
