Firefox Spoof

I'm a big fan of Firefox. I recommend it to anyone as an excellent browser. I use it 99% of the time, and IE when I really have to. When I scan for spyware I normally come back clean (over 5 weeks now and not one bit). Compared to IE where it was finding spyware every scan.
Here's a turnaround for you. Check this link http://www.shmoo.com/idn/ click to enter paypal and look at your address bar. Likewise with the secure link. LOL IE is the only browser immune to this. There is talk of a patch for this soon. Be careful out there! LOL

I use that extension spoofstick and it even showed up as a paypal site that link, normally its fine.
Still anyone who relies entirely on being 100% secure is a fool. I did hear a few days back that a exploit in firefox had been found, not sure if it was this one or not.
Still its better than IE any day.
PS Have you updated sp2 lately yesterday a number of security fixes were posted on M$ site.

Here's a fix for this problem.
1. Find your profile. The location varies with operating system:
Windows XP/2000: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\
Windows NT: C:\WINNT\Profiles\[UserName]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\xxxxxxxx.default\
Windows 95/98/Me: C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\
Windows 95/98/Me(with user logon): C:\Windows\Profiles\[UserName]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\
Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/xxxxxxxx.default/
MacOS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/xxxxxxxx.default/
MacOS X (alternate): ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<Profile name>/
xxxxxxxx is a string of 8 random letters/numbers. You may need to enable the viewing of hidden files/folders to find it.
2. Back up the file 'compreg.dat'
3. Right-click on the file 'compreg.dat' and open it with a text editing program - something more advanced that notepad, like wordpad.
4. Use the Find command to search for IDN. Add a # to the beginning of every line containing the text IDN
5. Save the file and exit, and restart Firefox.
But beware if you add things (themes or extensions) to FF, the compreg.dat will be regenerated and those 2 lines will be de-commented again.**Cheers**

Ive now d/ l that spoofstick thing but how do i get rid of it - its taking up too much of my browser space! It's better to travel hopefully than arrive...0 -
Its only a small program that resides in tools/extensions click uninstall.
Cant see why you want rid of it ist only a few KB
You can always make the text smaller in option far left hand side at the top of the browser under file
