... and have sold two things so far, out of about 15 (can have up to 25), so not a bad result seeing it was free & the "pitch" runs for 90 days in total, so i can add items/delete items/change details/prices/photos as i see fit. All it's cost me is a couple of paypal fees.
You can also "haggle" on things you bid for, tho' haven't tried this yet.
And it's a sight quicker to put stuff on than ebay!:D
Anyone else had a go?0 -
Bumping this up to see if many others have joined this site? I put a few things on the other day so hopefully will get a sale soon. Any luck out there?OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

I have just started using this site and picked up a couple of good bargins. HOWEVER I have now come across a problem.
I made an offer on an item which was to include P & P. This was accepted and when I went to pay the seller had doubled the original sale price, left in P & P and marked item as sold. This did not reflect the offer and according to them I have committed to buy it. The amount due is now more than the original sale price. Although not a megga amount it's the principle of the thing & I am refusing to complete the transaction. Ibootsale support is little or no help. They seem to have little or no understanding despite me listing events in almost monosylabic words. They say that items can't be changed once an offer is accepted but any seller appears to be able to change amount to whatever they want then mark an item as sold to 'YOU' for whatever price they want to put on it. Paypal payments cannot be adjusted on payment as other auction sites so that is not a solution.
Ibootsale are also very lax in administration in that there are no copies of emails between seller & sellee so disputs are difficult to resolve. I have suggested that they keep history of item changes and that any emails should be sent to both parties. This is just a bit too simplistic for them though.
I would recommend that you give this site a very wide berth0 -
kitten*kat - I work for iBootSale so can assist with your issue. We have already tried to explain this twice via email but third time lucky...
Haggle and Offer prices are for the item only not P+P. This is because the postage price is a set cost (stamps and packaging), whereas the user maybe willing to haggle over the item price. You however wanted to offer a total price, not a problem normally as the seller can alter the price accordingly before accepting (if abused, we would deal once reported - Seller cannot force payment!).
In your case the buyer accepted the offer price and the system then added the P+P. Now this is a simple error which could be solved very quickly and easily, we can contact the seller to verfiy that this is the case and then alter the price accordingly. We have already requested you supply us with the relevant information but as yet we have not received it.
As for paypal payments, the price is automatic when using the checkout system as the entire point is that its convenient. You can however make a manual payment using the seller payment information provided.
Emails and item changes etc etc are logged, its only the optional comment added to offers or haggles that are not. This would be resource intensive and a waste (really would not serve a purpose). Even in your case, you say that you added the comment and we have not reason to doubt that. So the seller is bound to verify the information once contacted...its really not a big issue.
Please let us know which item you refer to (as you have several for same amount) via contact form or reply to previous emails and we can resolve the issue very quickly for you.
Apologies to other readers for the long post, but im sure you appreciate that we needed to respond. Customer service is a top priority at iBootSale.

I've found something on the site I want to purchase, but the seller only accepts bank transfers!? This seems a bit unsafe to me, am I covered by any protection like on ebay for such a transaction?
