best free ftp prgram??

dont use ftp much any more and tend to do it at the command line but here's some that may suit

filezilla
smartftp
aceftp
ws_ftp
ie
firefox
ftpeditor

if you can get ssh access to the server then

winscp

Probably the easiest to use would be the one built into whatever you use to design your web pages. Most have FTP functionality built in.

Otherwise, there are loads of FTP clients out there. WS_FTP is widely used. Google for WS_FTP Lite for the free version

Or you can even use Internet Explorer. Just type ftp:// followed by the FTP address

FileZilla. It's got all the functionality you'll need. It's light, stable, and completely free. I use it at home and work.

If you use Firefox, there's an extension to turn it into a simple ftp client. I still prefer FileZilla though.

Another vote for filezilla here, been using it for a long while now and had no problems - find it light and easy to use.

No real need for another one, but I like ftp Commander:
