Why do people buy things that are free?

Example:
You have a Volvo V70 and want to know how to reset the "Service Due" light because you've serviced it yourself.
Searching on eBay finds items like this which somebody was happy to pay 99p for.
Searching on Google finds pages like this that tell you how to do it anyway. No waiting and no cost.
I'm convinced some people are not aware of "life outside eBay"

Some people use ebay so much, they forget how to search other sites. They instinctively go to ebay.
What is worse though is when those same people email you and complain that they could have downloaded it for nothing on the web!!!0 -
People on ebay get freebies from websites and flog them on ebay for money when they cost them not a god damn penny! its getting rather sad that many people selling sim cards on ebay getting £3-4 inc p&p that many people are now being ripped off :A Freebie Queen :A0

People will buy things that they could have got for free because...
a) Its on e-bay so it much be cheap/good quality etc etc
b) They don't/can't do simple searches before parting with their cash.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
