Pilgrims Choice Cheese - BOGOF & 1/2Price at Tesco - thus 82p/400g
This is the Extra Mature Vintage, Flavour Strength 5 & is, I think, an unbelievable bargain. This was at Eastville, Bristol Tesco, the expiry date is 13NOV. This maybe nationwide & just a good bargain. We picked up 26 packs! for £21.32

This is actually a PRICING ERROR !!!! (which has probably been sorted but maybe good chances of R&R ????? )
Went to my nearest Tesco superstore - found Pilgrims Choice Extra Mature Vintage in 200g, 400g and 600g blocks. (£1.68, £3.29 & £4.49)
Could not see any mention of BOGOF and none of the prices even with a bogof would make 82p for 400g
I must admit having read the original post I somehow came to the conclusion that it was the 200g blocks I needed to find at 82p.
Took all sizes to the scanner and checked price - exactly as per SEL as above.
Decided I'd go to CS and ask, taking a 200g with me.
Explained about it being half price and bogof elsewhere and online.
They confirmed price as full price.
Suggested I speak to the PROMOTIONS manager.
He came down and confirmed 200g PCEMV was not on offer.
Seemed to think that there was a bogof on some "extreme" cheese but thought they had sold out.
We went to the display - a very small section on the end of an aisle - NOT on the cheese shelves.
Turned out it WAS for PCEMV but 400g blocks - and YES - £1.64 !!!!
BUT ALL GONE !
Promo Manager said they had received only 3 cases (36 packets) that morning.
I said - "But it's on the normal cheese counter" and fetched a 400g block.
He said "But it's in a different packet - it doesn't look like that"
Then came checking its barcode and the promo SEL number and everything was correct.
He then double checked the "non-promo" SEL details for the 400g PCEMV - exactly the same as the promo sequence of numbers.
Then he wondered if the packets were the same and he was thinking of something else.
Scratching his head he said I could have some at the £1.64 BOGOF deal - he would have to come with me to CS or a till to put it through.
I explained that I'd come to buy about 2KG of cheese and would therefore need 6 blocks. "No problem" he said.
We agreed I'd "do the deal" later since I needed to get some more shopping.
Walking away I suddenly realised that I'd found a R&R (scan at £3.29 but SEL £1.64 - well the PROMO one was) but that I'd immediately scuppered the chance because of the circumstances that I'd found it and that unless I actually bought more paying the full price at the till and then tried to R&R at CS where they were expecting me to turn up and collect my "reserved" 6 blocks at the PROMO price - this might be "dodgy territory".
ANYWAY, whilst perusing the aisles, the PROMO manager found me and said that he had got to the bottom of his "head scratching moment"
The price SHOULD BE £3.29 (NOT £1.64 - this was a mistake) with a BOGOF offer on it.
He thought that the £1.64 price may have been on the central (nationwide pricing) computer earlier in the day (otherwise loads of people would have been to CS asking about the error) but had been corrected in the meantime.
He said that if I paid for 2 x 400g he would give me another 4 x 400g for free.
I initially though that this was OK but when he said that it would cost £6 something I thought - hang on it should be £4 something, and he agreed. (actually £4.92)
He then offered to give me FIVE blocks if I bought just ONE !
Now THAT I was happy with. Just £3.29.
We talked for a few more minutes and I mentioned that the price MUST have been £1.64 earlier otherwise the CS desk would have been busy and because of R&R they would have been giving a lot of refunds out.
He agreed and (whilst I wasn't forcing the issue at all that I could have done the same) he just came out and said " I tell you what - why don't I just GIVE YOU the SIX blocks for FREE !"
WHAT A RESULT !!
I passed the end of aisle display and the £1.64 promo offer SEL had gone !
And sure enough when I went to the tills I asked for the supervisor as instructed and gave him my name, he disappeared for a few seconds and came back with 6 x 400g of PCEMV that did not get scanned at all !
SO, if this has been sorted then it is £3.29 for 400g but is a BOGOF.
HOWEVER, I'd guess R&R possibilities exist IF you can still find the £1.64 Promo SEL on display

I also spotted this - 400g of cheese advertised at £1.72 each BOGOF except the products stacked behind the label were 600g packs. I took 2 to the till and the total came up as 2 x £4.79. Unfortunately I then queried it with the cashier instead of paying first before raising it with CS. She told me to speak to CS. I pointed out the sign and said it was misleading that they had put the 600g packs behind the sign. They were not happy about me quoting their r & r policy especially since their customer service promise board was hidden behind a display. In the end they let me have one 600g pack for £1.72. I came away feeling that it had been a pretty unpleasant and embarrassing experience even if I got some cheese for a bargain price. I shop regularly at this store and now feel embarrassed about going there again. The r and r policy is great but you certainly have to be thick skinned to make the most of it!0

I bought 4 blocks from tesco yesterday - SEL said £1.64 but scanned at £3.28 - took sel to cs who flapped a lot and offered the reduced price (begrudgingly after examining the sel practically with amicroscope!!) - I know I should have pushed for R&R but was late 4 work and 84p for 400g is a bargain in my book - why can't everything be buy one get three free??
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!
