CD Drive "Buzzing" - Help

I am in the process of recording all the CD's onto my hard drive for copying on to my Zen jukebox, but my CD drive has now decided that there is no CD's in the drive, when there are, and is making a buzzing sound, I'm thinking when it is searching for the CD?
Does anyone know what might be wrong with it?
Could it be that the laser has gone out of alignment, or do you think thats its knackered?
Any help would be much appreciated.
