I can't remember which is which with buggy board and kiddy board. One is thin like a mini skateboard and the other is chunkier in a rounded triangle shape!

We had the triangle shape one as that fit better on the pushchair I was using, and my son loved it. He walked half the time, and rode on that when he got tired.

Hope you are feeling strong as it's much harder work pushing with a toddler on the board, especially when you go up hills!
Here I go again on my own....
  • I bought a buggy board for my very independent almost 3 year old and ended up selling it boxed and pristine a few months later as she refused to get on it. Not the most comfortable of inventions if you have back problems as you have to stand back from the buggy somewhat to accommodate your toddler -or I may just have abnormally short arms!

I would try whatever you decide second hand. There are always ones on EBay being sold in as new condition - just make sure all the fixings are there as these are fairly expensive if you have to replace them.

i had a 2yr 4month old when number 2 came, brought the seat to go, but really couldn't get to grips with it. was ok when on long flat roads, but otherwise was constantly having to get him off when going across kerbs/pavements bumpy etc. In the end i got 2nd hand double buggy of ebay for £40, used it for about 4months, sold it for £45! as oldest was walking everywhere.

I had a buggy board and it was useful. As others have said though it is hard work pushing uphill. Bought it for £20 in tesco sale and sold it for £25 a year later.

I had a kiddie board that clipped onto my pram (buggy boards are for buggies!), my 3 year old loved it, and it was especially handy when you where in a hurry and need to move quickly, I soon got used to walking with my feet slightly apart, otherwise you kept kicking the board. The kiddie board could be unclipped and stored under the pram when you didn't need it. I managed to sell mine at half its value when I had finished with it!

  • My sister had a buggy board that was used almost from the day her youngest was born. She used it on both the pram and the buggy and the wee man loved it. It was well worth the money although she ended up breaking it as he refused to get off to cross roads etc and the bumping with the added weight (granted not much!) was just a little much for it. I think she did get a little compensation fromm company though as you would expect it to stand up to a bit more than what it did...

  • I have a seat 2 go on the back of my double buggy (I'm a childminder). I love it, and the kids do too. Its better than a buggy board IMHO as it is a little raised off the ground so you dont kick it every time you take a step. Also gives kids the option of sitting if they like.

Have you seen the little bike that attaches to the back of your buggy? I think its called a sit'N'ride or something. They look pretty cool too.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'd forgotten about the bike option.

Looks good, but worried about how it fits in the car as the pole which attachs it to the pram looks like it doesn't fold down.

Tried out the buggy board today in Mothercare and seems okay...is Seat to go under your feet as much or less than a buggy board? And is Seat to Go as easy to put in the car as the buggy board? Seat to Go currently £34 in Tesco...cheaper than ebay!

    So many questions.

    BTW Sarahjovi-thanks for explanation!:A

  • Which Tesco's are doing the Seat to Go for £34?

I'm a childminder too and have a 21month old daughter of my own, but i also have a 4 onth old starting with me soon so would like to get something so i don't have to use the twin buggy.

I used a buggy board, cost about £40 new, my son used it when he was 2 1/2 when my daughter was born. These things are virtually bombproof, very well made. Sold it on ebay for £20 about 2 years later. Now have twins so they'll have to walk !
