From the National Trust Website:
Enjoy!
Enjoy free entry to hundreds of National Trust places to visit on Saturday 9 September 2006 and help make history.
The doors to many of our houses, gardens and other much-loved properties around England, Wales and Northern Ireland are opening for free on 9 September to celebrate Heritage Open Days, as part of the History Matters – pass it on campaign.
Enjoy!

From the Heritage Open Days Website here is the link to a list of all the properties open on 9th September (including English Heritage, National Trust, Historic Houses Trust)
However, that list only seems to cover EnglandFor NI and Wales, check the NT link in the first post.

If you go to these places and have a nice time ..maybe think about popping a small donation on the way out????...I joined the national trust a couple of years ago and these places do rely on donations for their up keep..no Govt handoutsThe Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!0
