Abbey increases savings account rates (w.e.f. 1st Sep)

Abbey have announced that they are to increase their savings rate with effect from 1st September 2006. The majority of Abbey’s savings accounts will increase by the full 0.25%.
Abbey's eSaver will increase by 0.25% from 4.85% gross (4.60% AER) to 5.1% gross (4.85% AER) for balances of £1+.
Balances prev rate new rate
£50K+ 4.95% 5.20% gross
£100K+ 5.00% 5.25% gross
200K+ 5.05% 5.30% gross
Abbey's standard monthly saver account rate increases from 4.75% to 5.00%.
The Abbey Postal ISA will also increase by 0.25%, to a new rate of 4.90% AER. The Easy ISA rate will see increases from 0.10% to 0.25%, giving savers rates from 4.05% to 5.05%.

Too little too late.If the Abbey had not reduced hubby's Isa back in june by the full .25% when there was no drop in the base rate it would now be competitive with some of the others.I am in the process of transferring the whole lot to the new B & B isa,at 5.15%.
I have you guys to thank on here for keeping me informed and up to date:T
In any case it was a postal account,and more hassle than internet Isas anyway.0
