Question Car servicing in France

Dear french car owners,
Does anyone know of any garages in Calais/Boulgne/Dunkerk or their vicinity where I could have my renault laguna serviced? I have had quotes in my locality from £6-800 for a 72k service (with a new cam belt fitted) and I'm sure I could get it done cheaper across the channel. Any help very greatly appreciated.

Default £6-700, ouch!

Did I read that right? God, I have bought whole vans for less! You don't mention how old you car is, and if you need the service record keeping up to date. Quite honestly I would take a look around the local garages and get quotes from independant mechanics. The best thing is to get arecommendation from a friend. Main dealers are a huge rip-off, and I wouldn't even use them if I had a car under guarantee. I would not think about giont to France for servicing, unless you speak fluent French and have a local friend. Over 17 years travelling in France, I have had 4 experiences of French garages in emergency breakdown sitiuations. Only one of them was good, as the French generally do not like the English (I do not mean to sound racists, this is my direct experience.). As you can plan servicing, try to sort it out in the UK.

"Excuse me, this expires today, will you be reducing it?"
