mcafee probs!

hi .im trying to fix a mate laptop she keeps getting pop up from mcafee saying (mcafee active sheild has deteced a virus on you pc we recommend that you use the scan feature to scan all drives on you pc ) but she has uninstalled it :confused::confused: can anyone help cheers

    Well it's obviously not been uninstalled properly! Good anti-virus programs are developed so that they are not easily uninstalled or deactivated and often need an uninstall program from the vendor to do the job properly.

    did she uninstall it, or just delete the icons

    is it here in add/remove programs ??

    Try right clicking on the c: drive and see if scan for viruses is there... But if the on access scanner caught it, you shouldn't be infected.

    go to control panel, then add / remove programs and see it its still there

    or there is normally an uninstall programme in the mcafee directory

    look like she did not uninstalled it propley! it's not in add/remove did the c drive scan for virus was there but other pop up saying some componets of mcafee sc are either missing or may not have been installed properly please reinstall . she did download it from the net she tells me and paying for it

    try re-installing mcafee, then uninstall it again, using the reccomended app.
