What are the general main things the credit card companies ask on your application (phone or online)?

name
adresss
electrol roll
age
date of birth
previous address

job adress,
salary
bank sortcode + account number? (do they ask this)

what else? (or is there a site/link which has all the common questions)

(oh and i dont want to do many dummy applications to see the questions, because if i am going to apply for that card, they might check that i am doing many applications.)

I've never been asked about electroral roll before... That info will be on your credit report.

    They will ask also:
How long at your current address
How long at your current job

    Employed full time?

Will get back if I think of anything else..

I would like to see that person who would advise you to do some applications to se the questions..... That is the most stupid idea ever.

there have been some people advising to do some dummy applications on some other peoples questions,

    they meant using 'wrong' answers.

I wasnt too sure if that was wise either.....

what is the worse that can happen if you do that?

    Oh, I see...
    Well, I don't know...

Clearly theoreticaly, as long as the answers were completely wrong, ie wrong name address and date of birth, they shouldn't be able to associate the application with you what so ever...

But such an idea never crossed my mind. What if your made up person existed and they would get a credit card? Because you couldn't use up completely made up address, I am not sure the application would let you continue with made up address...

I'm sorry, am I missing something here? If you want a cresdit card, just apply, why all this cloak and dagger nonsense?

Sorry if you've explained this before in some other post but it's a tad bizarre.

Surely if you apply, you will see what they ask.

What is with the odd posts from you lately? Seems a bit suspect...

generally they only ask for what you have listed

i wouldn't go doing applications with the wrong data on it, as it will more then likely flag on NHUNTER or even CIFAS as potential fraud, or application fraud, if you end up with a CIFAS marker you will find it quite hard getting any credit for 13 months or whatever the time is before the marker drops off your credit file.

The best advice i can give is to be honest and consistent on all applications, who cares what the questions are.

And yes they do ask for your bank account number and sort code.

quite bizarre questions to be honest, your not contemplating doing anything bad i hope ?

    It's exactly what I'd advise.

There's usually a button at the end stating "apply". Until you hit that it's not a valid application.

Danny, just go through the applications yourself. You can go all the way through the application process right up to the last screen and then cancel out. There's no credit search done and you can see all the details to these and the other questions you have :) All you're doing just now is making people suspicious of your motives :)

They won't track your IP address and send the fraud squad round to your house and ask why you didn't complete their application form. Card companies don't provide information to each other on people who didn't complete their online application process - why would they?

I'd advise him to go through the process but not actually complete it ;)
