Thought you could hit a car in a car park, drive off & get away with it?
                    Think again!

And no the entire medical history of your family doesn't excuse you either.

She was quote lucky as generally careless driving is 5 points plus you would get points for the failing to stop (3 or 4 I think). Although getting a careless driving conviction for hitting another car whilst parking is fairly severe0

" A complete state of panic"
but, apparently alright to continue driving...
Glad the book was thrown at her far to many car park incidents like this due to carelessness and don't give a sh*t attitude.0 -
Seems somewhat careless on the defending/mitigating solicitor's part (Sam Lamsdale).
Any competent solicitor should know that court proceedings can be reported in the press under exemption from defamation (absolute privilege) and would thus consider avoiding anything that in their judgement would not significantly affect the decision of the magistrates and could harm their client's reputation and that of their children.0 -
some prat did that to me the other day! shame no one spotted them or if they did they didn't say anything, no note and it was outside a church and police station!!Yes Your Dukeiness

'Sam Lamsdale, defending, said Hunt suffered from anxiety and depression and had two children who suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome.
Miss Lamsdale also said Hunt suffered from personal relationship problems and had a dad, aged 90, with Alzheimer’s'
Pfft, if she really had all that wrong with her she's obviously not responsible enough to have a driving licence...
I've sat through magistrates court hearings a couple of times and it becomes quite funny some of the ludicrous claptrap the defence come up with to try and get the defendant off...0 -

If there is significant damage, it may be worth you putting a plea for witnesses in your local paper.
The minibus I was in hit a car in a car park a while ago (I wasn't in it at the time but was nearby as I got out to get a client - I'm a support worker) and I didn't leave details as the driver stopped and spoke to people there, the name of the cab company was clear to see, and there were at least two other witnesses there.
The driver then took us home.
However, a few days later, I saw and ad in the local paper asking for witnesses and it turns out the driver went back to the scene after dropping us off and tried to say it wasn't him!
Others had thought the same as me - that it was cut and dried but one witness had left details.
Anyway, it took the best part of a year to get it sorted as he held out to the bitter end, despite two unconnected witnesses.
The woman who owned the car came to thank me afterward as she's had to pay increased insurance and had been very stressed with it all.
Worth a try, maybe! It worked for her!0
