Protectacoat adding to house value

Hi,
Had a company called protectacoat round recently. As part of their sales pitch they said that their product adds 7% - 10% value to the house. Any thoughts regarding this? Any experience of them?
Many thanks

Here's an interesting view from an ex-employee: http.

As with any home sales, take them with a pinch of salt. I don't believe I've ever seen a house advert saying 'protectacoated' or whatever, so I would guess that estate agents don't think it's a selling point.0 -
As a valuer for an EA with over 10 years experience I can honestly say that it would not add any value whatsoever lol.......I actually feel like ringing them up and getting them to try and justify exactly HOW it add value to any home.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0

My mother had this done to her house at an absolutely disgusting price (something like 5K) and had nothing but problems with it (algae type stuff growing on it, bubbling and chipping of the coating etc) although to be fair they did come out and fix it on more than three occasions. Incidentally she sold her house last year and although it helped with the "curb appeal" it added no value whatsoever.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

What concerns me is that the website tells you absolutely nothing about the product. What is it - just render?
Ours is covered in Weathertex, but we're just about to weatherboard & render over it  simply so it blends better with other houses in the area. As safesound says, we expect that to increase the "curb appeal" but probably not the value. Cost will be less than £2k - but that excludes scaffolding, which is already in place for the new roof.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
next scam please...........0
