£500-800 risky high returns!

Hi there,
I've just found out I'm getting a bonus from work, nothing major - about £500-800 and, as it's money I wasn't expecting, I'd like to invest. But I'm young and carefree so I'm not keen on sticking it in a savings account.
Any ideas as to any medium-high risk investments you can make with that sort of money? I mean, apart from gambling (per se)....
Vaguely thinking about buying some metals - silver maybe? I probably don't know enough about the stock market to play it.. could you just buy £500 worth of silver (or gold) online somewhere and see what happens to the price, or would you end up losing so much in fees that it wouldn't be worthwhile.
Or any other ideas?

Buy Avanti Communications shares. AIM tiddler aiming to launch a satellite this spring to establish European satellite broadband. MIGHT take off and give good returns.
Or... might crash and burn (literally).

Not Gambling per se, but Matched Betting is worth it with that amount to start with - have a look at the Gambling Introductory Offer Loopholes forum.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
You won't always be young and carefree, but if you want a little gamble, why not put the money in a good reliable equities ISA, choosing a good old faithful fund which many investment advisers recommend like Invesco Perpetual High Income, and have the dividends reinvested? If you buy silver or some other commodity you could well find you have problems liquidating it if you needed to.0
