I know there was a thread on these early last year and they were popular then but a lot more expensive than this. It's grabbitnow's daily deal.

The paper lanterns are a hazard to livestock and can be mistaken for distress flares

Just a quick note on the aminal friendly side of things. Lots of people have been saying how these lanterns are dangerous to animals, I just wanted to point out how dangerous balloons are to animals and this doesn't seem to stop people letting them off. I am not putting myself on either side of an 'argument', just giving info.

Anything that's left in a field/lane/unclaimed in open air place is a danger to animals, wild or otherwise, so just don't let anything go/off that you don't know you can clean up (or fly tip
). Is it really worth something dying for 10 seconds of 'ohhh, arrrr, that's pretty'?? Do not feed the trolls please.0 -
have any animals actually been hurt though or is this the usual papers worrying for nothing?
just out of interest i've never let one off.0 -
