Is this pc any good?

Options
Just spotted this on hotukdeals and wondered if it is any good (need one around £300-£400 for surfing, editing photos, word processing, basic games etc.)

Also, are Misco a good company to deal with, please?

well the basic specs of that computer are not bad (surprisingly), and should cover your usage just fine

misco are a legit company however i have not had any dealings with them myself

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
  • Looks pretty good, even for fairly recent games with that graphics card I would have thought. The only problem I can see is the inclusion of 64bit vista if you've any old hardware you want it to work with.
    Out on blue six..
It's Chips and Jackets, Peas and Trousers.

Just be aware that the 'free' upgrade is the licence cost. You will have to pay between £10 - £25 to get the discs though.

As I said on another thread, it looks OK to me. The motherboard only supports a maximum of 4GB of RAM but that shouldn't be a problem for everyday use.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

OP does really want a 64-bit operating system, now that 64-bit is becoming the standard why save up problems of incompatibilities throughout the life of the machine for the sake of some old cheap peripheral the OP may or may not have that might no longer work

I agree that the 64bit OS is the way to go, especially as the system comes with 4GB, a 64bit OS will use it all.

OP- Looks like a bargain to me with that GPU, snap it up!

32 bit os's - esp. XP are going to be around for many ,many years.
Maybe more relevant is the very poor choice of a 64 bit os with a m/b that can only handle 4GB max ram. What other poor mixes are in this box? Power supply?

Thanks for the latest replies. Tbh in my haste to ask about it on here I hadn't realised it was vista (I know things on hotuk usually disappear fast!) and it has put me off abit. I was already over my maximum amount and would still need to get a monitor too. I'm not very techie and don't fancy changing the OS.

I really DO appreciate all the advice on here though. It's just alot of money to me and I want to be really sure before I take the plunge once and for all as it will have to last me.
    Thanks.
