PC Needed

Anyone know where/how I can get a decent pc. Mine is dying on it's !!!! and it's really old. I'm looking for around 2.5 ghtz p4 or equivalent. Decent graphics. Around at least 50gig HD and 1 gig of RAM (in a pinch i have 512mb on this machine i can swap over, though im not very good at computer DIY at all and don't know anyone who is). This is something I really need right now and if I could swap my silly ps3 for a decent pc i would in a heartbeat. Thanks.

sounds interesting, what type fo processor is it and whereabouts are you. If you are not really local then obviously and unfortunately it would be impossible to proceed (i'm not putting a video game console in the hands of the royal mail).

my credit card or chequebook dont' come close to what the shops are asking for and I lack the knowledge to go DIY.

Freecycle is great - when they have what you want :D

Its an AMD Athlon XP processor very fast and very quiet, I'm in Glasgow so what we would probably have to do is book a courier from a site like parcel2go.com its about £6.50 to send something with the weight of upto 10 kg and you get free insurance to the value of £200. Ive use them a few times in the past and never had any problems.

As I said before if you are generally interested I could take a few pics for you its just sitting there anyway in the spare room not getting used as I have another PC which as a waste really as its cracking PC that cost me over £400 a few years ago.

    Thanks.

Yep and on those specs you will probably struggle to get £50-£100 for it, let alone a PS3. I have given away higher spec computers than that on Freecycle.

OP check Ebay but set it to distance nearest to you first. They quite often come up on there and go cheaply because nobody wants to pay postage!

really? this system cost me well over £400 back in 2008 plus I had to buy the grraphics card which cost me over 80 quid alone so I dont where you got yours from but you got one helluva bargain or a PC thats on its last legs.
