Rainbow coloured theme- what do you think?

I'm currently musing on the idea of having a multicoloured/rainbow theme to the day rather than sticking to one colour. I was going to have purple and silver (purple being my favourite colour) but I've seen pics of brighter more multicoloured weddings and I'm quite liking it. like here

Groom/ushers/bestman.father of bride etc could all have a different coloured tie. OH like green so he could get the colour he likes...

I could have multicolured bouquet.

I haven't deceided on bridesmaids but the could have multicoloured flowers/ sash on dress their favourite colour (they would be more flowergirl age..)

Reception could have tables of different colours eg red table, orange etc

Best of all there are 2 shades of purple in the rainbow (indigo and violet :p) so I get a lot of my favorite colour.

Wedding cake with different colour flowers or decorations? clr15.jpg

What do you guys think?

When I read the thread title I was a bit 'ummmm not sure' but clicking that link changed my mind. It looks really fresh and interesting!
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:
  • I love this idea!!

I am really struggling with commiting to a colour scheme as there are just too many colours to choose from and i change my mind every other week. This sound like a great way to incorporate all the best bits of the colour schemes you've considered.

Agree completely with this. On paper it sounds a bit scary, but done nicely I think it can look fantastic!
  • I Love it - and am doing similar!!

My bridesmaids are wearing the same style dress but diff colours (turquiose, yellow, green, purple and fushia) The groom and groomsmen will have orange cravats, chair sashs are orange. Flowers are hopefully pink, yellow and orange - and there will be various other colourfulness around the place :D

Took a while to convince the groom but yeaterday went on Davids Bridal, Dress my Wedding and mocked it up - he has now agreed!!

Why the hell does that article state, 'rainbow for the cash strapped'? Cheekly bleeder, whoever wrote that.

I think all the different colours look gorgeous together!! And nothing on that page looks very 'cheap to me', infact it would cost more to do a rainbow theme I reackon!

Yeah, I'm not sure quite where they got the idea that it would be cheaper than anything else... (I think it's an american site... i think that says a lot :p)

I'm quite lucky in that my dad works for a floristry/gift/party decorations wholesaler and so gets..staff discount off of the wholesaler price:j They always stock stacks of stuff like vases, and candles and silk flowers and oh, all that kind of stuff so hopefully (fingers crossed) venue decoration should work out quite reasonably priced. :)
