I applied for the card on the 21-12-04, and have heard nothing since. I have given up trying to get through on the 'phone to ask for assistance especially as the number is a 0870 number at £1 per minute.
I have never received a email reply or nothing.
Has anyone had similar happenings or can I assume my on-line submission never arrived at HSBC.

My husband made two online applications, the first one obviously vanished in a puff of smoke, the second one didn't fare any better. So, as advised by several people on the boards, he eventually went into the local branch, and got a result in 20 minutes and the card two days later. The amount offered was not large, just £2K but we do have other cards as well.
I've drawn the conclusion that HSBC are not he world's greatest seismic movers! So go into your local branch, with the relevant ID, just to speed things up etc.0 -

Suggest you get over to the Telephone board, as there's no way you should be paying £1/min for 0870!0 -
You should never call an 0870 number without first checking for an alternative on https://www.saynoto0870.com.
I just had a quick look for you and HSBC card services can be called on 0121 2145648 instead.0 -
but even so, an 0870 would be about 8-10p/min max even from an expensive landline...student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0

I hope it's worth the wait! Maybe give them a courteous reminder and get them to follow it up. Or perhaps they are running out of plastic again!
I thought the idea of internet activity was that things speeded up! When you have to resort to taking time out to go down to your local branch, if there is one near you, and finding a manager not on a lunch break - you do wonder!0 -
I applied for HSBC card at the end of November and have sent off payslips etc but have heard nothing and I'm now quite annoyed - 0% Mint deal ends on Sunday. Yikes!! I'll try calling the 0121 number.0

I had the same problem. HSBC have been apparently overwhelmed with this offer. The answer for me was to go into the branch, they called up my details, checked my id, I signed the agreement, filled in a BT form and the card arrived 2 days later0

Husband and I both got accepted no bother - only problem we have is paying them. I paid his first minimum payment through on line payments from our HSBC current account on 14th January - it was due 17th. After a week or so noticed it had not been credited so put in an on line "missing payment query". They still claim they haven't received it.
Rang the call centre today (Kuala Lumpar no less), and after much checking they said it had been paid, and they could not talk to the on line card people to sort it out, at which point I asked to speak to my branch manager - who incidentally is less than 1/4 mile away from me, and I had been in the branch 1/2 hour earlier!!
She is sorting it out for me, but in the meantime the online people have put a block on the account. We are fuming about this to say the least, as we have banked with HSBC for over 15 years, and do not want to get a bad name through no fault of our own.
edit:
Bank Manager rang me back to say she hasn't managed to get anywhere. HSBC Online Card is not operated by HSBC, but by HFC, a part of Bank of Scotland apparently. They refused to do anything to help, and refused to remove the block, even though she offered to fax through to them proof that it had been paid to them.
She has instigated a search to find out where the payment went, and has in the meantime made a further payment. When this is all sorted out I will be looking for compensation from them.0
