A method I use to get cheap tickets is e-bay!
It gets a bad press for the number of ticket touts but the upside is if you wait until a couple of days before an event you can often get tickets for less than face value as touts try and cut there losses.
Just make sure you buy from someone reliable with good feedback!0 -
With regards to the Orange Wednesday deal, If you have a willing friend who has an Orange phone get them to send the text and then they can forward it on to you.
This way you don't even have to spend out on the sim in the first place. I have never been challenged when going to the cinema this way....

We use the free cinema tickets on the freebies thread. You can get to see most new films this way - infact we go to the cinema twice a week now instead of once a month!!! I register my home and work email address;s so that I can take the whole family. Have also used these to take the kids and their mates to the cinema for birthday treats. The impulse tickets are great as you also get a goody bag with large popcorn, drink and sometimes an impulse spray.
We swap Tesco vouchers to use at Cafe Rouge and Bar Ha Ha for meals out.
We like to go to our local Theatre but at £30 each we cant afford to see everything we like, but we often try on the day and get "standby " tickets - not usually great seats, but better than nothing and only £7.50 each.
I dont drink alcohol when on a night out because of the stupid prices - I second the lime or blackcurrant and soda option. I make up for it when I get home!!!!
We take advantage of anything going on the freebies site - this has led to us going to the Donnington races for a full weekend for free (all 4 of us). Just paid for the campsite (£40) and had a fabulous time. We also got a free meal at Waggamma's for all 4 of us. I have had a free spa day with my sister, 4 free tickets for Alton Towers - the list goes on. I know some people have had mini cruises, holidays etc. We have gotten to the stage where we dont like going out if its going to cost us!!!0 -
Olli is a spammer.
I have cheap nights out by getting men to buy me drinks all night ... does that count?!!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Posted this on "Grabbit" but thought it was relevant here too:
Dont know if this is the correct place to post this, and Ive searched and cant find anything (so please dont jump on me if it has already been posted), but the Telegraph currently has an offer on for a 2 course meal at selected restaurants (600 up and down the country) for £10 and includes a glass of wine. You need to collect 4 tokens (1 per day and last one is on 8th October) and this entitles 4 people to dine for £10 each. Might be handy if you have a special occasion coming up.

I don't know whether this has already been posted but if you register with studentbeans.com you can get access to loads of student offers on food, fashion, gifts, travel, books and going out.
Registration is free and you can print out a 2for1 voucher for any film at Cineworld valid from Monday to Thursday every week.0 -
Just about to enrol on my course tomorrow and will be looking out for lots of student bargains. So cheers for this.0
