Good Morning All, - AYUBOWAN - May You Live Long

Saturday 9th January 2010

Please post here if you get any of today's newspapers or have the chance to look through one.
Please tell us if any of them contain coupons or freebies or vouchers OR NOT !

Important details are:
The cost of the newspaper
Whether it's a regional edition
Page number
Expiry date of the voucher
Whether it's store specific and has a barcode (POST the BARCODE NUMBER if possible)

Remember if you go shopping look in as many newspapers as you can.
Post even if you don't see any coupons, and mention any offers that you see.

Below you'll find a list of the abbreviations and how to interpret them.

MOC - Money Off Coupon
Bc - Barcode, good chance of universal scan
bc - only selected stores scan
Xwrd - Crossword
PUZ - Puzzle
T#3 - Token 3
T2collect - Token 2 Collect (generally you have to collect numerous tokens to get the offer)

Lets hope todays a good one for coupons

Just looked at yesterday's Times - Free 2 day pass valid at Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Centre - have to phone & book an appointment. It entitles 1 person to use the Centre for 2 consecutive days. Offer ends January 31.
I won't use this voucher, so pm if you can use it.

I went shopping for my elderly Mum and Dad today with my sister. Picked up the Daily Express and cut out the voucher for the free Cod Liver Capsules ( which they did not have) and the one for the Bio-Synergy Water. I did my shopping and got the water. I used the self service till and it kept beeping so the SA said it was because I was standing too near the bag packing area!! Then I told her I had a voucher ( as they have to approve vouchers on Self Service) and she made a big fuzz of checking the date on it and then tried to scan it and could not. She told me to go to Customer Services and they would do it. I know the girl on there quite well and she also struggled with it and then called accross to her colleaugue " I have got another one of those vouchers!" in a sarcastic voice. So I said not to bother just deduct the money and keep the drink. I also said that I did not know why Tesco bother to put vouchers in the papers if they did not mean us to use them. She then practically threw the money at me and meanwhile one of the other assistants passed me a complaints card.
Now I know it seems a fuss about 98p but I am kind of sick of Tesco's staff having this high handed attitude towards their customers. I am not ashamed at being a moneysaver and wont be put off saving money by their attitude. I am going to fill in the card and also write a covering letter and for once I think I will name names. I know that the Tesco coupon thing was kind of ruined for most by people being greedy and abusing it but I will use a voucher if I want to and wont be put off by their attitude. My DD has worked in customer services and always says she was taught to be polite and the customer is king. Perhaps Tesco's staff dont know the clue is in the name i.e:- Customer Service Assistant or Sales Assistant!!
