New Year pre VAT Rise laptop advise

Hi,

I am looking to buy a laptop before the sales are over and the Vat rise is in full affect and have spotted the following and I am just looking for advise as to what will be the best deal? The HP one at the top seems great but I am willing to pay more so that I get more for my money.

    Depends what your going to use it for. No point spending £500 if you only need to spend £350.

    Well something that will be used for quite intense home use and will not need replacing for a good few years.

    For intense graphics stuff (video and games) you need it to have a very good processor and video card. You might get away with the most expensive one from Play but you probably need to spend more.
